Thank you!!! I’ve been saying this for years. I’ve also always thought that woman are socialised to be anxiously attached, and then their dealings with all the avoidant men exacerbates that.
Jeremy thank you for this piece. It's refreshing to see a piece where men actually sit with their avoidant attachment style (a feat in and of itself) and describe vulnerably how they see it shifting with deep inner work.
I found myself having to really examine my own attachment style when becoming a parent, and realized that the inner work healing is a lot like parenting--in that we have to re-parent our inner child to shift some of those neural pathways.
A dear friend and I actually spent some time creating these inner child meditations and integration journals to help with that pathway re-wiring, in case you find them helpful at all.
