Male emotional labor is sacrifice for the community as a whole; it is mark Anthony’s speech after the death of Caesar; it is what is so ubiquitously running society, it is what keeps historical wounds in check… it is what cannot be complained about.

Thanks for reading and commenting. The idea that men are naturally supposed to protect the community is not based on historical fact. There have been societies in which men play that role. But there have been other societies where gender roles were more diverse and fluid. I'm interested in learning about the various ways we can be as men, rather than one limited way.
