Great read, thanks for writing this. I've only been reading for a few months so feel free to let me know if you've addressed this previously. Do you think it's bad for children to have that sort of alone time or self-entertainment time (e.g., you collecting robins eggs and exploring the garden) when they also have attunement from caregivers? Thanks!

Thanks for reading! I’m not a child therapist but my gut tells me no, it’s not bad. Alone time is healthy, as long as it’s not being relied on often or all the time for coping with difficult emotions because there isn’t an adult nervous system available to help with that.

Thanks very much for putting all this down in words Jeremy. A lot of what you said attuned with me strongly, to use one of your chosen terms. Funny how you chose the age of 4. I always thought it was the happiest age of my life. Just before school gets its claws into most of us...
